I'm going to look over an 04 body at the local yard tomorrow. I was wanting to add the newer squared grab handles in the pillars by the windshield. Anyone know if it will work? I have a 2000 and the driver doesn't even have the grab handle.

 

If there are no mounting tabs in the pillar in the 2000, there will
be nothing to bolt them too. They bolt through the plastic a-pillar
into metal tabs (sorry I didn't take pictures last weekend of that).

 

I figured that. Wonder if there is a way to make it work.

 

It has been done. I dont recall who, but have seen pictures on fte but it has been awhile. You will need the pillar plastic, just drill new holes of where the handle bolts up to.

Well just got back from the junk yard. Scored both pillar trim and handles. Also got the rearview mirror since mine was separating. They wouldn't let me get the rear hatch outside handle. Only selling it whole. But I got everything for $40. Not bad I think.
