I received ARP headstuds last week for my rebuild and the small packet of Ultra-Torque lube included concerns me. Should I order a small bottle just in case or save the $23 and hope it gets me by?
Alternatively, does anyone have extra packets they could drop in an envelope to me? Erick at Brown's Diesel, where I got the studs, was going to throw some in, but must have forgotten. Great price though!
I just finished installing mine this weekend and one packet seemed to be enough. I did have the same concerns as you and I talked to a couple of shops I know and they said it would be enough. I just tried to split it up over the twenty bolts.
I figured so, I just tend to go overboard. Optimally, the lube should be used on not only the threads, but both sides of the washer as well. I just wish they would include the 1.69 oz tube instead of the small 0.5 oz packet, considering the cost of these head bolt kits. Thanks for the input!
