I thinks you must be a paying member to avoid the ads?

The ads are what keeps the lights on and the servers running.

I use either Firefox or Opera from my Android DroidX which seems to work pretty well. Does the site give you the option to read the mobile version? Works fine for reading single posts but really bad to use and actually look at everything.

You should be able to zoom in enough to cut the ads out, at least thats what I do!

I am with the membership option. I pay every year because I love what the guys and gals here are doing. Not just for me but for others. So I pay the membership to make sure the good stuff keeps flowing.

I'm a paying member too...it's worth it for all of the great help I've received with my truck...
and C'mon...it's cheap...for the price of an air filter, you're supporting FTE!!!

There's a lot of effort that goes on here worth supporting.

Thats weird...I don't have that problem with my iphone. I normally sign in though which usually gets rid of advertising just like when you sign in form your pc.

Pay the $20 to avoid the banners. I wasn't here very long before I went that route. If you spend enough time here, it's definitely worth it.

Same here. I have ads on my iPhone, but no trouble with big banners clogging up the page.
Here's what the mobile version looks like on my screen:
(I can scroll down through and not be bothered by big advertising banners. Make sure you're using the mobile version, not the regular version of the site)

You might notice, though, that the advertising I do have is for a stupid GMC Sierra. Probably not the best place for GM to spend money on advertising. lol

Dugan, how did you get 4 bars of service on AT&T? No bars in more places? Isnt that AT&T's slogan?

I really dislike the mobile version of these forums. Works well enough for a view from an email reminder, but any surfing I do seems to do best from Opera on my DroidX. Firefox works OK, but is much slower and is a resource hog.

The first day I joined (11/04/2006), one look at all those banner and pop-up ads, convinced me pretty damn quick to became a supporter.

Cory, I don't have any trouble with AT&T here in Central Indiana. I can talk on the phone and surf the web at the same time most of the time (I do get network trouble in a couple of remote heavily wooded areas where I'm forced to view this site on...the edge network )

But I agree, I'm not a fan of the mobile versions. The regular versions usually work better for me. It was just a thought for Machinegunmike, in case the banner would go away if he switched to the mobile version.

Btw, when will we see some more pictures of the "fail truck"?

What's up with these guys that get all kinds of awesome help from FTE and never support the site?

My rule of thumb is that if I receive more useful information or help or entertainment from a forum than I do with a magazine subscription I should contribute.

If you sit down and think about all the little tips and tricks that you know now that you didn't or a planned upgrade/modification that you thought you wanted to do but after researching it here knew it was a bad idea you realize how much more money you've saved than a membership would cost.

P.S. Every time someone joins the forum and tells us about their awesome plan to swap their truck body onto a much newer frame and we talk them out of it they should be required to sign up for membership

All my current work is in the link in my signature. Im around 250 pics now, starting from the first few I took back in April, all the way up to the most current work Ive done on the cab. I should have pics of the drain panel repair, and one of the dents I need to fix up by Saturday night.
