Unfortunately, It's parked in my driveway. An original "Artie Grindle (I want to sell you a VAN!) Tropic Traveler that older Central Florida residents may remember. Fuel pump is shot (I think) as well as lots of nickle dime issues.

Yeah, they go quick but they are around. Someone on the Sportsmobile forum recently found a poptop in a junkyard for $50. Needs a lot of TLC, but it was $50!

I would take one that needed A LOT of tlc for $50. A camper van with a pop-top showed up on Craigslist for $1600. It wasn't drive-able due to the brake system issues. It was kinda worn, but past that it was complete. I called 24 hours after it was posted and it was already sold. Obviously the owner didn't know what they had.

I just can't figure out how to rationalize $5000+ for a newish one for a van I paid $3000 for. That says a lot since I am pretty good at rationalizing the money I spend modifying my vehicles........

I hope you find one at some point for a decent price. Another guy on the SMB forum found a poptop off a van that had caught fire and got a new canvas for it for under $1000. I think the guy that got the $50 junkyard one is going to have to replace the canvas too, if I remember correctly, but then you've got a practically brand new poptop for around $1100 plus some new hardware and a few hours of your time. Good luck

I know where a pop-top is in a junkyard.
Probably get it for $50 or less.

Man!!! I can justify a lot, but I don't think I could justify driving 13.5 hours 1 way for a van part.....and yes, I did jump on Google maps to see exactly how long it would take to go get it. You should pull it and then head up to Indiana for vacation......we have lots of great stuff like corn, basketball and more corn.

We have nothing that old in our junkyards. They are all piles of rust. I wonder how much it would cost to ship it via a freight company?

Patience man,patience!
They're around, keep a close eye on the junkyards south of you, I can almost guarantee you there's one in Tennessee. Row52 is nice but only shows a small portion of what's really out there.. (only 1/3 yard's use it around here) By the way that's the second pop-up van I've seen at that PnP. They're not super rare, I've found wayyy harder things to find that that
