it doesn't surprise me it didn't help you.looking at pics i saw on obn between the f450/pickup pedals (pre -92),the pin locations are drastically different.i think your going to have a nasty brake pedal until you swap it.

I got the pressure line replaced and no leaks. I also have the offset end of the push rod facing down. The BOO works great and the truck stops on a dime. Pedal force is a little more than desired but a pedal replacement should fix that. I am very happy so far. Thanks for the help everyone!

Oh, I know it shines already. All I have to do is apply a little force to the pedal and the truck stops dead in its tracks. I haven't tried towing or high speeds yet but let's just say I am afraid what will happen if I stomp the brakes with my spare E4OD in the bed - even though it is tied down, I don't want that sucker in the back of my head!

Now I just need to deal with the pedal for comfort reasons. It is completely drivable in normal conditions with the stock pedal being a bit firm.

F250, what are your thoughts on buying a used h-boost unit from a junkyard?

the one JY by me that has two f-superduty's(at least they did a couple months ago lol) said $100 for the h-booster. that is about $120 less than a brand new motorcraft unit from rock auto. i would like to try and not spend a fortune on this but i also understand we are talking about one of the most important parts of a vehicle. i'm just concerned about the reliability of the JY units.

well your concern was mine of course, and the reason why i went with new.
you have to remember though, mine is a full time use money maker w/ parts or miles tax deductible.so these types of decisions are much easier for me.
if someone needs tree work done,i have to be there sometimes in an emergency.there can't be any excuses about my truck braking down.no one wants to hear it.i have to be there,or they call another tree service who will.
for an average pickup to scoot back and forth to work or school i wouldn't think twice.id go right to the salvage yard and buy used.
unless you have a realistic goal of running the truck for 10-15 more years, but really there's no telling if a used hydro can't make that either with yearly flushes of synthetic and a cooler.
tough call.it's always a gamble with used parts.like always,it's just a matter of figuring out the odds of doing it twice or more over your ownership or just once.sometimes the current available funds are the determining factor and you just do what you got to do.
they're known for lasting a long time, but remember most of these trucks now have already gone their long time lol.
one more year, and the latest built idi truck (yours.1994) will be 20 yrs old.the hydro's can be pulled from f-supers up to '97 though.

Thanks F250.

i looked everything up and i could get everything new for about $340. new motorcraft booster, gates pressure lines, new reservior, and that pump seal kit for the p-steering.

can the reservior only be had from the dealer? i searched for it on fordparts.com and they want $40 for it.

Personally i don't think roughly $340 for all new stuff(rather than JY stuff) and GOOD brakes is a pretty good deal.

update!
recently on oilburners it was discovered that even the 92-97 (9th gen) trucks do in fact for 100% certainty use a different brake pedal on the F-Super Duty (pre-450.)
armed with this knowledge i called, called and called some more and couldn't find a 92-97 f-super auto brake pedal anywhere.so in the classified sections i asked for one,and not long after someone found one for me and shipped it.it came today, and i put it in today, giggling like a school girl the whole time because i knew what was coming............................
now i have my cake and can eat it too!
driver comfort drastically restored and i highly recommend the upgrade to anyone and everyone.
if you don't swap the correct pedal in,then the hydro swap is only 60% of what it should be.the correct brake pedal makes up for a whopping 40% of the stopping power and driver comfort.im sure it may be a bit firmer still than vacuum was,but it's been so long now, that i don't recall ever having brakes so touchy and easy to use as they are now lol.
thank the maker.i won't be trying to use both feet on the brake pedal now i can tell ya that much! id go right through the windshield, seat belted in or not!
do not swap to hydroboost without the correct pedal! if you do,you'll never know what your missing.i always knew this couldn't be right.im so thankful to those who discovered the pedals are in fact without question different.thank you.thank you.thank you and thank you!
pics attached.clearly a massive difference.

the 92-97 brake pedals.pickup vs f-super (f-super is without pedal pad)
the f-super clearly has the pin higher up for a more straight positioning of the push rod along with increased leverage.

oh man,and to think i did this mod on 08-20-2011
couple months shy of 2 years putting up with a rock hard .............................................( all kinds of choice words)............ brake pedal!
not anymore.

there isn't enough of these pedals out there to go around obviously, but you now know your pins need to be moved, either via experienced personal,or yourself if you've got the skills.be safe guys! make sure the weld is one you can trust your life with.

the numbers stamped on the 92-97 (9th gen) F-Super Duty (pre- F450) AUTO TRANS brake pedal are as follows:
F2TA-2455

Thank-you for the update. I pulled two hydro boost units out of junkyard trucks last year, but didn't get the pedals either time... just didn't know any better. Mine's a standard transmission, but I'm sure it has the same brake pedal issue. The bad news is I'm back to junk hunting for a pedal, but the good news is that I won't be suffering the frustration and poor driveability from having the wrong pedal. Thank-you.

Think ill stick with the vacuum, i dont like hard pedals and even with 450gallons of water in the back i can make em screech if i want to. Especially with my new master/ booster... soo much better.

However not to take away from your upgrade. Glad you were able to find the part. I wonder what would happen using the hydro pedal with vacuum...?

binds and as a result harder pedal and glad someone has good brakes, after driving more modern trucks for years the ones in my truck just don't even come close (hell I dread rush hour traffic empty) don't know if its in my head but I swear the thing stops better with the 24' 9k lb trailer hooked to it as the trailer brakes are doing most the work.
