Glenn, I got 20+ milage on a tank. DC area to Outer Banks NC and back. I used a lot of self discipline (cruise control) at 60-65 MPH. I have never gotten that before and haven't since. But I also have not driven with that discipline either. I believe my right foot is a BIG factor in my MPH equation.

I'm getting on highway 20-23 MPGs,@ 55 to 63 MPH. Just drive from my home to work which is about 25 miles around trip it at 18-20 MPGs. I don't pull much no more and don't drive hard but once in a while. I have got 24.5 onces after my little bit of up grades and that was in the winter. I have the 81 250 with the 6.6 , 2 barrel carb that gets 10 MPG so I'm not complaining .

263k. Orginal trans is starting to get me worried. If I spend 2 or more hours on the highway then do city driving it tends to not shift out of first unless I let off the pedal and before the tc locks in the rpms usually rev up for a split second. Once I let sit over night she is fine until my next road trip.

mine has 439k and the od went back to 300 when it was about to hit 400k was kinda depressing. my doesnt qualify cause i had it rebuilt at 315K + but it woulda lasted a little longer just had the money and it was burning a big hole in my pocket. i wonder if there was a recall on some trucks to maybe fix the odometer problem if it was one?

I just rolled over 140k on my 1997 Crewcab long box 4x4. Everything's running the way it should. The paint still looks fairly new. I don't know about 22mpg but it could be possible. On my last trip I had my fiance and camping gear in my truck and I managed 310 miles on the front tank alone. I have 4.10's and 285's on my truck traveling between 55-70mph on the freeway. My truck only has the 6637 filter and the 4" exhaust from the turbo back with no cat. I switched to the rear tank so I can fill the front later and see how much fuel I used to go 310 miles. I'm thinking around 18mpg.
