Vic 4.6 hp/mpgs

I recently bought a 97 Crown Victoria thats an old police cruiser. Not exactly sure how many mpgs it gets but i would like to make them better right away.

I plan on putting on a k&N air filter, throttle body spacer, and flush injectors.

Anything else i should/n't do?

None of what you're planning on doing will do a thing for fuel economy, unless you count the lighter wallet as having a benefit for fuel economy.
Making sure the condition of the plugs, wires(yes, '97 4.6L's use plug wires), and the condition/cleanliness of the MAF sensor, along with having good functioning o2 sensors are about all you can do for fuel economy, unless you're willing to spend some money on a custom tune that can be tailored to fuel economy.

'97s are all but hopeless. You need different heads to make power--the later "Performance Improved" heads.

Link here talks about that:

TB spacer will do nothing.

K&N will do nothing except possibly at totally full throttle, but you risk oiling up the MAF sensor. Put in a clean factory style filter and you're fine.

I will run a bottle of Techron injector cleaner thru my vehicles, maybe twice each year.

Good luck with the Vic; I am so sad to see the RWD big Fords go away. They are such a part of the automotive landscape.

Horse crap.
The '97 Tbird in my sig is still running a set of those "awful" NPI heads.
It's all about knowing what you're doing.

OK, so you know what you're doing, is that just the "custom tune" in your prior post, or is there something else the OP can do?

I re-read the OP, never mind, you answered his only real question which was more MPG. Lost my mind for a moment.
