Looking todo some performance mods that will pass smog. iwas hearing something about an EGR valve delete. I personally dont know what and EGR valve is since this is my first diesel. What other stuff is there that is somewhat cheap that i can pass smog with? Thankyou for the help.

Have a 6.0 turbo diesel. F350

 

Performance and cheap don't really fit in the same sentence when you're talking about a 6.0. The delete you've heard about is actually for the EGR cooler, not the valve, and it's not something we can do here in California and remain emissions compliant.

At the top of the 6.0 forum there is a "read first" sticky titled "6.0 Tech Folder". There's enough reading in there to keep a person busy for a long time, and I'd highly recommend going through it to familiarize yourself with some of the quirks of the 6.0 before even considering performance mods.

 

Exhaust is pretty cheap, adds power and a nice sound to your truck. Steve did some EGR work, he should be able to help you. I like the way he went about it.

 

Or you could just add stickers...

 

Some stickers are pretty expensive.. and if it says SCT TUNER you might not pass Smog

Depending on how much of a pain your Smog guy is
