Brake and steering question 73' 360

I finally have my rebuilt 360 back in my 73/76 F100 4x4. I have ran into a few problems that were not an issue prior to the rebuild.

The brakes seem like I have a vacuum leak, the pedal is firm but can hardly stop it even at a crawl. While waiting for the rebuild to complete I replaced all brake lines being the originals were rusted extremely bad. I have looked and think I have all vacuum lines used or capped so not sure how to test this?? Any suggestions?

The other is the power steering, which has become almost non existent. I re-installed but now it acts like there is air pockets in the system. While driving in the yard it will be super stiff with no power help then all of a sudden it will work for a second then back to being stiff. Whats the best way to work air out of the system? Figure thats the first step

Thanks for the help in advance

For the power steering I usually turn the wheel stop to stop while moving slowly and that seems to work, as for the brakes, when I put mine back together last fall I noticed I had not plugged the vacuum line to the booster so I pulled it and sure enough, them bees had built a home in it, and in the check valve too.. Might be something like that possibly...

Fixed, took a total of 10mins. 3-4 figure 8s around the yard got the air out. Dowel rod through the brake booster hose got out 10 or pieces of gravel that I'm thinking my little girl pushed down in there.

Thanks for the help
