Thanks Craig. I'm happy with it. I'm no painter, but it looks great from 20 feet. New headlights are on their way, so I should finish it up this weekend, and move on to other wiring problems.
I've read the entire thread and like what I see. Joe, the truck is progressing nicely and the forum members are terrific at answering questions and offering tips and tricks. I am looking forward to my own project, 1950 F-5, and will be grateful for any help members can offer. Keep up the good work!

Welcome to FTE! Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you like the thread. I tend to ramble on and probably post too many pics, but I figure no one has to read it!
Good to have another big truck in the works, too. Start your own build thread and give us some pics, please. We love pics.
You've already noticed what a great bunch of guys and gals are using this site. I just got my truck in July, and would still be wondering what to do with it if not for the fine, helpful folks hanging around here.
I will post some pics soon. It will be awhile before any work gets started on the F5. I want to plan an attack.
Developing a plan is important. I started by making a list of the obvious things the truck needed, and looked for parts in all the catalogs I could find (paper and online). Then I prioritized the list. The most expensive items will be on the list for a long time. But I've kept a record of everything I've done so far.
It runs in spite of plug wires from 3 different sets, half with no boot and with fuel pouring out of the carb and pump. Gaskets I suppose. Starts easy and idles smooth. Have a leaking left side water pump, but it runs!
Thanks Ray. My intention is to research all I can before starting the work. But patience, we'll see.
Welcome to FTE, patience is a trait that dwindles once you start working on one of these trucks. I obviously have a special place in my heart for F5's so I will be anxious to see your pics and your progress.

Excellent! The plug wires are no big deal, except I'm sure you'll want them all to look the same.
The gas leaks are more serious, but even I rebuilt my carb, so that's not hard. And I'm sure you know it's dangerous to run it with gas leaking.
Haven't done my water pump yet, but I'm pretty sure that's in my near future, since I seem to have a new leak (haven't found the source yet).
