Dog dish hubcaps?
#31
Ouch! Those deep dish caps are hard to find around here! I'm still looking for a clean set for my 4x4 F250.
I like those hubcaps.
My '94 F150 original had hurricane rims (think that's what you call 'em) and I hate those things, so ugly. I took out an old set of black steelies I had laying around from a parts truck, painted them white, and put those hubcaps on it, with white walls..... beautiful!

Outie: So called because the hubcap snaps over tabs located on the outside of the wheels center section. "Innie" hubcaps snap over tabs located on the inside of the wheels center section.

1973/79 catalog: Type 5 is D2AZ-1130-J (replaced D1AZ-1130-A) .. 15" Wheelcover: 1971/72 Galaxie/LTD / 1971/77 F100 / 1975/77 E/F150 / 1972/74 E300! / 1972/77 E/F250/350!
D2TZ-1210-A .. 16" Trim Ring ~ 1972/74 E300 & 1972/77 F250/350.
In order to use D2AZ-1130-J 15" wheel covers on E300 & E/F250/350's 16" wheels, the trim ring was snapped on first, then the wheel cover was snapped onto the trim ring.

To fit the E/F-250/E/F-350 you would need the adapter ring if I'm not mistaken for either one of those last two mentioned.

I would have to take your word for that one for innies and outies. I haven't seen the innies I don't think or I'm making the mistake of thinking they are identical when they are not.
Not trying to start an argument, just pointing out there were two different types.

The 1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com. This is the version that Chris (ctubutis) is using.

And not trying to start an argument either, just trying to learn and figure things out. Now I know what you meant by innie and outie. Didn't realise that was a difference. That would make the 1968-1977's outies, because 1967 were innies due to how they mount on the wheels.
So I was combining the two and thinking them the same one.
It all now falls into place and makes sense to my feeble brain. I think.

C7TZ-1130-A - innie hubcap, parts catalog sez 1967/68 F250. When a question inre to these hubcaps came up in the 1967/72 forum, I typed just that.
Then a member chimed in and said he has a 1969 F250 with these innie hubcaps. (sigh) It never fails.
I asked him if his truck is a Camper Special, it is. I said it originally came with 8.75" x 6.75" wheels that tires are hard to find and expensive when you do find them.
These wheels are probably long gone, a PO went to a junkyard, replaced them with 1967/68 innie wheels/hubcaps.

I got rid of the original wheels on my 1972 F-250 Camper special very quickly. Since they were split rims it cost more to mount the four tires than it did to buy the four tires. Got a set of four convensional wheels from a 1987 Econoline, slapped my C8UZ-1130-B's on them and never thought twice about it. The whole set of 1987 wheels cost less at the wrecker than to mount one tire on those split rims.
I would bet the guy I sold that truck to thinks the wheels are original as well.
I feel safe in saying tires, wheels and hubcaps/covers are the most changed items there is on these old trucks.

The hubcaps are what came on the truck when I purchased it...The hubcaps are the OUTIES and they fit right on the 16 in. wheels..Trav.

I don't even like walking around those rims when I see them in the junkyard. If they are lying on the ground, I always turn them over so the ring will shoot into the ground if there is a mishap.

[quote=ArdWrknTrk]Well, it appears that after backing up alongside a tall curb this morning I'm looking for a E5TZ 1130D Type 3 hubcap to fit the 16" wheel on a full floating 10.25" rear.
You ever find one? I used to want those type 3s also. So far I have gotten a 2wd half ton one that I tried to cut up into a 4x4 and failed miserably and single deep dish. Whats too bad is my mom's boyfriend has an old dodge farm truck with deep dishes on the rear. I now want the type 5/12 now after seeing this picture. It seems though that the only year for the type 5/12s in 4x4 is 1985 correct?

Attached are the two pages from the FoMoCo 1980/89 Light Truck Master Parts Catalog, most of the images & documents I've put up in the past have been removed when my hosting provider started charging money for their services.
If you let us know the exact specs of your truck, we can probably find the FoMoCo part numbers of what you're looking for.

^ These are wheels, not wheel covers/hubcaps. ^
