4.9 in a 1997 f150

I just pulled a 4.9 out of a 92 f150 and the plan is to swap it into a 1997 that has a 302. I yanked the engine and trans with the wiring harness. Any grimlens waiting for me?

A '97 F150 would have had a modular V8 not a windsor, are you sure about the year of that truck? If it really is a '97 then you are in uncharted territory because the I6 was never offered in it so there are no frame perches available and you will have to make them, and you need a trans too because whatever is in the '97 won't bolt up to the I6.

The guy already had the engine tore apart doesn't look like any 302 I've ever seen but that's what he said it was. I have everything from the other truck so it's time for fabrication I guess.

OK trucks confirmed to be a 4.2. Towers from the other truck measure out to fit with minor modifications. I instructed him to clean everything and blast it before priming with a weld through primer. 17 inches mount to mount and 23.5 inches from the condenser will be spot on. The real fun comes wiring it up. I think I'm going to make a write-up of it as a return on all the help I have gotten from forums over the years.

Happy new year.
