overheating

my 6.0 overheated this weekend and blew about 3 gal out the overflow bottle before I was able to stop and refill. EGR is dry, all tests passed at dealership. They think the edge evolution is bad. I run it in stock mode and was using only for gauges. The previous owner said he used for tow mode. They think it is causing the fan to not kick on properly.

What do you all suggest? I'm happy with ripping the thing out and just using scangauge. What will it take? Any suggestions on what might really be wrong?

I'm going to disconnect from the computer tonight and see what happens.

Something caused your degas to puke. I call BS on the bad tuner. Unless they are willing too say headgaskets too.

I've heard of the same issue without a tuner. I'd be interested to find out what "all" of the possibilities are.

use the SGII to watch the FAN RPMs

at 216 fWT[or ECT] mine fan rpm really picks up to like 800 rpm and up

even ambeint temp plays into the fan speed

hows your ECT vs EOT spread

Id watch all I could with the SGII

06 no egr delete. I have been watching ect and eot with my evo and delta typically less than 10. Ect jumped all over though. Climbed to 255 then back down to 220. I believe fan is kicking up at the 215 range. Not real sure what to think. If I try unplugging evo from obd ports should computers go back to normal or do I need to pull whole thing out and does the computer need reset?
