2002 F250 7.3 Windows and radio not working

I just bought this truck and for some reason sometimes the power windows and radio will not work for awhile then it will start working. I replaced the relay on the accessory and I still have power to the dome lights and instument cluster. I am kind of at a stand still on this matter. I have read that there is quit a few problems like this and not very many exlpanations to resolve it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My 99 F250 the radio would refuse to turn off, randomly. I suspect, in both your and my case, it is due to a loose connection someplace in the circuit.. The question would be where, and I can tell you that loose connections are the biggest pain in the .... to find

Do you have a blown fuse? #35 maybe?

For some odd reason the 10a instrument panel fuse can also cause similar issues. I can't remember the number off hand but I believe it's either 43 or 45.

I bought a 2002 F350 that was having the same issue, I found the problem to be the switch in the door. I removed the panel on the drivers door and cleaned the switch with Electra clean and then greased the lock mechanism. The switch in the door controls the the delay. This has cleared the issue for me.

Hope this helps.

Solved!! Without sending my gauges out!

I solved this problem by splicing to the power wire on my radio with a plastic side splice (the kind that you squeeze on and jumper another wire next to the existing wire, commonly used on trailers) and running the new wire to a 15 amp fuse. Worked like a charm, then I did the same thing for the power windows, just find a hot wire and tie in the power line to it. All the wires are fused so no risk of burning up your truck! The only difference is now when I turn the key off the windows and radio immediately go off instead of having the normal delay until you open the drivers door. For $4 in wire connectors and 15 mins its a done deal!
