2008 F-150 Nav upgrade help
I know there are a lot of questions on this, but I seem more confused than when I started.
I am looking to purchase a stock nav unit for my '08 F-150 FX4. It currently has the 6CD Audiophile system w/ sub, steering controls and sirius. I believe I need this part number: 8L3T-18K931-CC.
Through my research I know the middle digits need to be the 18K931 as they designate the nav.
My questions are:
1) Do the first 4 digits of the part number matter? ie 8L3T. I know this tells me its an 08 F-150. Will a unit out of...ie a milan or navigator work with programming?
2) Do the last 2 digits (-CC) mean anything?
3) Is there a difference if the unit is '06, '07 or '08?
Thanks in advance!

for the most part as long as you get a nav unit with a sub output, any nav unit will work. I out one in my expedition from a F150. The programming is what is important. There really is not difference between the years except that the 06 unit has a "mute" button and the 07 and 08 have "phone" buttons. I knew I was not going to put the ford hands free kit in my expedition so I went with a 06 unit so the mute function could be programmed in. If you do not put the phone kit in your F150 the phone button is pretty much a dummy button
