What aftermarket leaf springs do you recommend?

Need to replace the front leaf springs on my 1997 F250 Heavy Duty Crew 4x4 Powerstroke. Ford quoted me $515 per spring (parts only). Are there any decent, aftermarket springs out there anyone can recommend for 1/2 the price?

Not sure if the cost would be the same for your year, but I remember LMC Truck having mine for about half that.

My local Ford guy gave me a similar price - directed me to a local spring shop with a good reputation - they quoted $295 a side for parts. A mechanic friend recommends JC Whitney, I've heard good things second hand about Jeff's Bronco Graveyard though I have no personal experience. I'd shop around online and check reviews.

What happens to the old springs?

Haven't decided where to get springs yet. But a friend of mine said Sacramento Spring in West Sac, CA does an excellent job of re-arching springs. All I have is a hydraulic jack and a couple jack stands, so I'm thinking I'll buy some replacement springs, have someone put them in, then have Sac Spring re-arch the old ones... if there's a market for them.

Thanks for the suggestions!

A couple places I know, re-arching is nearly the same price as buying new and rightly so. To do it correctly is a serious process with expensive equipment. You save a little bit over new but not much. I doubt you will find a market for your re-arched springs.

I tried to look for the Air Bag you suggested, but it doesn't show up in a search on the website. Part # 59511, correct?

spring replacement not turning out so well --

I purchased replacement springs from National (code Q) OEM specs, no lift according to Ben at National. I had Ford put them on. Now I have a truck that can't be properly aligned because the damn thing is pigeon-toed (tires point in at the bottom and out at the top). What the heck is going on -- anybody know or have ideas? The tires look like this when looking from the front: \ /.

I called Ben at National and he verified the springs were the correct ones. Ben said to make sure the weight was on the springs before the bolts were tightened on the bushings. Ford said they did the installation by the book. So far, this is a 2K bad idea. Ford also had to replace the right and left top ball joints, they said.
