96 F-150 truck Vibration Problem

Transmission mount bolts retightend will see if that fixed the vibration problem,
I will let you guys know if it worked.

Truck drives great, around 40mph to 70mph there is a vibration problem only at those speeds.

Checked the Driveshaft its tight.

Any other ideas what it could be?

86f150302? i thought i read that your bolts were loose and you retightend them and it fixed the problem?

Middle age regular maintenance begins !

Worn or unbalanced tires, worn or broken engine/tranny mounts, dead or dying damper... Those are the usual causes that come to mind.

My truck recently had a vibration issue...Pushed on the D/S, and got no play, drove the truck around, THEN rechecked...Had 1/4-1/2" of slop...Replaced the U-Joints and it drives as smoothely as silk...

As stated before, check the balance of the tires...Could very well be a busted belt...

Btw-Seeing as I am a self-declared grease ****....GREASE YOUR TRUCK OFTEN, if you have to think about the last time you greased it, IT NEEDS TO BE GREASED....

lol...Just had to throw that in there, and as seeing as it is a integral part of maintanence, and the life of your U-Joints.....be sure to spread the wealth to them...OFTEN...

Fixed, so far so good it turns out the Right front wheel had the wrong size weights on it and the right rear needed to be re mounted and ballanced.

Just because they are new tires doesnt mean anything.

The easiest thing with a vibration issue is to check U-Joints for slop and check tire balance. Move on from there and check things like mounts, balancer pulley...etc.

Driveshaft. The ones on the axles I think would cause more binding and popping than vibration. I might be wrong though.

Set your E-Brake, and put the truck in N....

Then crawl under it and try to push on the D/S....If it bangs around, etc...And has slop like crazy....The U-Joints are bad...
