Should a guy be afraid to install the blue spring without a fuel pressure gauge?

Ive got a blue fuel pressure spring kit here waiting to go on the truck. My plan was to install it today but I was wondering if I should be afraid to install it without knowing what my fuel pressure before and after was? As far as I know I have no fuel pressure concerns and I do plan on buying a isspro fuel pressure gauge but that's another $150 I cant put out right now.

I would still do it but you're really taking a pretty big risk not knowing what your benchmark pressure is right now...

Get the gauge asap.

Well I just got back from buying the M12X1.5 to 1/8NPT fitting and I also picked up a 2.5" 100 PSI gauge all for $15. My plan before I install the blue spring is to install the fitting and gauge into the housing. At least this way I can see my fuel pressure at a idle before I install the blue spring. I would really like to see the difference at WOT throttle before and after installing the blue spring but oh well. At least this way when I buy the isspro fuel pressure gauge I want i cant just remove the gauge from the housing and screw in the sending unit for the isspro gauge.

The ford/international fuel pressure regulator update is not a performance upgrade, it is an OEM update, you do not need a fuel gauge to do the update.

F100... Would youmind telling me what you paid for the Blue Spring kit?
I just dropped by the dealer and they want $120 Cdn for the spring kit. I'm sure it was only $70-80 last year when I checked. Guess I should have gotten it then.

Try an International dealer with the no cover number. It should be around $30.

Fuel pressure regulator kit: 3C3Z-9T517-AG 1843065C98 or 1854267c94 (no cover)

Thanks Guys,

I will give those #'s a try. But this is Canada and most likely the dealer cant or wont get those parts.
3C3Z-9T517-AG is the one they want $120 for.
Heading into town today. See what I come up with.

Can you mail order it?

www.partsguyed.com is a good place. But I don't know, you might pay more in customs than you save in the price of the part.

All you guys from Canada I paid $27 at the local international dealer for the kit. I used part number 1854267C94.....there's two ford part numbers floating around on the forum for the kit with the housing and without the housing...out of curiosity I checked the price at ford and the guy at the counter couldnt do anything with either part number. He said they are both USA numbers and a none stocking item. He then asked for a year and make and said he would try to find what I was looking for. He found the kit without the housing for around $90...I asked for the part number but he only gave me the first 4 digits and I could tell he didnt want to give me the whole number. So i just said no thanks and went to international. International here in BC didnt have it in stock and it took 2 days to bring one in from Alberta.

Is there a guide in the tech folder for changing the spring? I've looked all over and haven't found it yet but that could be a good thing meaning there is so much info in there to use
