Hydroboost Questions
I am working on compiling a parts list for converting my 1994 F350 to hydroboost brakes. I've searched and got most of the information I need, but had just a couple questions I haven't been able to answer so here's hoping I can get this answered and it helps anyone else contemplating the swap.
1) I will not be converting to rear disk, but keeping my drums. Thus far it seems I should retain my current master cylinder as it has the correct proportioning valve and bolt it to a hydro-boost booster. True or False?
2a) There are a few choices for rear wheel cylinders on the drums. The best performance seems to be using dually cylinders and 3" shoes on the SRW drums. True or False?
2b) If True are the dually cylinders direct fit bolt on's as I've read that the steel brake line fitting is a 7/16" SRW and 3/8" DRW or vice versa?
3) Finally I have read there is a break in the hose configuration from pump to gear to booster due to build date. And I have read there is not a break. Can this be confirmed if there is a such a break? I have the P/N for either way, just need to know which should I get.

1) True, use your existing master, but you'll have to enlarge (slot) the holes as the hydroboost bolt spacing is wider than the vac booster spacing.
2) no clue on dually vs srw brakes, never heard of someone messing with that. You'd probably get more out of switching to disc rears if you think you need to upgrade the rears
3) sorry don't know that one either, at some point they do switch over to I think metric sized fittings, and the mounting for the hydroboost unit changes, but that might be when they went to calling 250's and 350's Superduty...?

I don't have the pedal yet, but I will hit the yards to find one in the very near future. Worse case scenario I will go with the drill/move/weld technique if I come up empty on the proper pedal.

I literally did everything that's not recommended, and it still worked just fine:
1. Used a HB unit off a '03
2. Used stock PS pump, and used a return tee.
3. Used stock pedal, no mod there.
4. No modded brakes.
I can lock up all four wheels on dry pavement if I want to, without needing to pull on the steering wheel to get the leverage. It's great!
It's also a lot more 'linear' feel-wise.
