I found a nice 89 f250 with 195k on it. The price is right and the rig is in great shape. All stock with no issues. Now what can I do to get some more power and all with it. Starting with the slightly cheaper easier things first. Im not a diesel mechanic yet. So start small and work my way up. Thanks y'all.

Start by reading the forum... And then when you have more questions, start a new thread... This is a bad spot for your question.

I reread this thread and there is a ton of uncertainty about the torque screw and what it does.

Ill try and clear things up a bit...

First of all, its been said that the Torque screw doesnt have any effect on max fuel and that not necessarily true. The torque screw serves a simple function, and thats limiting the range of the metering valve, or in otherwords trimming back the fuel the metering valve lets into the pumping chamber. So when you have your foot into it, instead of opening the metering valve, and dumping fuel in (Which equates to smoke in most cases), it lets RPM and transfer pump pressure deliver fuel to the pumping chamber. Your supposed to tune the torque screw to result in as little smoke as possible, while retaining peak torque on the dyno. It WILL result is less MAX fuel, because it is limiting the metering valve, but its a very rare situation to be using ALL the fuel that the metering valve lets through so its really a non-issue for 99% of setups. Either way, unless you are on a dyno, there is no point in adjusting the TS, most cases will result in less power. You need a tangible measurement to do it right.

Thats right, Racin, and I'd like to add that not all pumps

Are DB2 pumps initially the same or are there settings different from different years or engine size as 6.9 to 7.3

Good post...

Id probably disagree for the most part on the injector codes... In all my testing, you could put any combo of codes in, and as long as they were functioning correctly, you wouldn't notice a difference... If you are OCD about it, than by all means... I will admit, it looks a little janky with different codes installed...

Hello

Help a lost Swede guy to find a new, refurbished (or better used) pump to my F250. Year is 1989, V8 Diesel 7,3 litre. The pump is a DB2831-4817 04817 1813102C92 7.3 Liter 1990-92 Ford F Truck E Van - Elect. Auto. Trans.

The truck has been not used now for 4 years, it is time to change this bad pump (Diesel pro mechanic has told me this pump is worn out) so I need a new one.

Recommend me where to ask and buy this pump please! Or if you have? Easiest way to contact me is on my mail daniel@vinvest.se or by phone 0046768218669

Would be the luckiest in the world if I can get this fine truck going soon.

Kindly Daniel from Sweden
