1967 F250 camper special

I've been looking around for a toy here lately and I ran across this :1967 Ford f250

Is it really what he says it is?
What are some things I should look for if I can get ahold of him and go look at it?

I will use it as just a "sunday go to meeting" truck and drive it some here and there, and maybe some farm work.
I know a decent amount about the dents but barely anything about the bumps.

And lastly what do you guys think of it?

Thanks!

If you need a big flatbed it could be the truck for you. I believe the 67 still ran the 352 not 360 and would have had a FMX C-O-M auto tranny not C6.

The odometer goes back to -0- every 100,000 miles so how many times has it done so? Some of the CSs did haul a camper (only) and didn't rack up a lot of miles, it that one of them hard to say.

Underneath is where you want to look for rusting, floor pans, rad. support, cab corners, under door hing area. May not be a lot.

I'd say it could be a good farm truck candidate but to restore not so much. IMHO

What do you call restore? For my part, it doesn't have a bed, it looks ruff, and with that heavy suspension, it will rattle your teeth big time.

Well for me, I wouldn't do a frame off or anything, probably just freshen up the 352, keep it on the road, possibly paint/body work, maybe one day pull the cab and start over from the frame up

The ad says it's original and complete but the bed is missing and like John says, that truck would have originally had a 352 and Cruise-O. Trucks like that around here can be had for as little as $400.

i didnt see any floor pans in the pic. i think all i saw was the ground. anyways 1k is way to much for that. i bought mine for 450 and it has 46k on body and 41k on the engine (302 outta 71 e100). i runs like a champ too. no peddle pumping.

I talked to the guy just now, he says that it was used to hual a camper and that's it for almost all its life up until the mid 80's, he also said the floors a perfect minus some light surface rust. I know a seller can say anything they want but I may go look at it.

I've got to thinking and I think I will get it if I can get it for the right price.
It being a 67 will I have to put hardened valve seats in the heads to run it on modern fuel?
And if so, is it true that the 352/360/390 heads will interchange?

If you want it go for it. Yes the heads can be swapped between many of the FE engines. If you decide to buy drive it and don't worry about swapping the heads until you have to.

Did the seller address the wrong year engine tranny issue?

If it didn't do anything but tote a camper til the mid 80s that was still 25 years ago.

I have seen much worse deals & taller tales than that.

The heads will interchange but there is differences in the heads chamber wise regarding CC's and valve sizes. The only FE heads that were came with factory "induction" hardened seats were the D2TA heads. Run the heads you have now it takes a while for the unleaded gas to push the seats in.

Thanks for the input, no he did not address the engine/tranny issue but he said they are both original and he starts it up often.

I will thow in my $.02 on this. This shuold be a 68 or 69 by looking at the heater controls. These are the slide levers style. Where the 67 had push/pull type of controls. Also the drivers door has a squeeze type of door opener in the armrest. The 67's had a crank type of handle.

Without seeing the grill this could be as new as a 72.

This may have the 360 and C-6 as advertised.

Don't expect much for gas mileage. My F-250 C/S with a 360, NP435 4 speed gets 10 no matter what. At least it is consistant. Mine also ahs rebiut heaver springs and i do not think the ride is harsh o rough.

Good luck. Tim

I don't expect much for MPG.. I got my 00 for DD'n

And thanks for all the info! That's the kind of stuff I need to know to "jew" him down some! I knew the 67's didn't have the push in style lock. They had some kind of different lock. I don't totally remember it.

Previous posts are correct, truck is not a 67. 67's had door handles like a '66. Here's a deal on a 67:
