My switch does not activate the 4x4 . I am thinking it's the switch because the none of the lights will even show up on the dash indicator, but I'm no genius on this stuff. Thanks in advance

 

take a hammer and crawl underneath the Expy.

on the back of the transfer case there is a small motor. looks like a red-bull can.'

"lightly" tap on that motor with the hammer. start the Expy and shift into 4x4. This is a very common problem from the early 90's that seems to happen periodically even on these newer vehicles.

if that doesn't work, try checking the fuses for a blown one

if that did the trick, it's only a temp fix. The corrosion gets knocked loose by the tapping and the t-case will shift into 4x4 for a while. Then it will do it again.

a good preventative measure is to shift into 4x4 at least 1-2 times a month and drive around a bit. Gets things circulating and lubed up.

 

tapped on it yesterday pretty good and didn't work. So now I am not sure if its the switch or a module. I am sure its the most expensive item.
