Wink 1947 vehicle ID numbers

Can anyone tell me about the VN 0799YI950340? I could not locate anything that tells me what the Y code means. The truck is a 1947 F2 flat head V8 with a power hoist.

I'm also trying to confirm VN 71GC336903 that is a F1 flatbed.

Hi pennypincher, I'll help you out. The Y indicates a 1 ton rated truck, sometimes called Tonner by Ford. The other number you gave is for a 1947 6 cylinder 1/2 ton truck. Oh, these aren't F series trucks, those aren't until the 1948 models.
Hope you found this info useful, and welcome to the site.
