I have a C6 in my F250 now, but it did have an AOD.

I found OD to be impractical & almost never used it with my rear axle - 3.54, 31" tires - & 60mph local limit.
Even at higher speeds (eg 75mph, so rpm's were better), it seemed to me that you were fighting wind resistance so there was no fuel saving in OD anyway.

With your truck at 35mph in OD (assuming 27" tires), you are only doing 1000rpm; & with no torque multiplying in OD.

Personally I think those rpm's are too low......particularly for a 302.

Trucks got 31 ones all the way around. I know nothing about AOD trannys. Just thought it was a little odd to be in OD at 35mph

Yeah the stock setting put the trans in OD at about 35mph. The AOD is controlled by a cable link between the throttle body and transmission called the TV cable, it modulates line pressure inside the trans and that affects how long each gear is held and how firm the shifts are. If you increase preload on the TV cable even just a little bit each gear will be held longer and shifts will be firmer. The adjuster is at the throttle body on the cable that comes straight in from the back, you can experiment with this setting all you want as long as you don't drive the vehicle with the cable disconnected or with preload at zero, though the stock setting should be considered the minimum.

I am not that versed on the AOD as well. Perhaps the TV cable needs adjusted?

Now there is the best advice.....

Hmm. I'm kinda tempted to play around with it. I mean the shifting don't bother me. It's just at times it'll like short shift and bog me down some.
