Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I finally made the switch from innovative to gearhead on my tunes...I couldnt be happier. No more funny shifting and weird smoke. I went with the 3 tunes for 100.00, I am running the 8k tow tune and the truck feels like it makes as much power with the 8k tow tune as it did with erics street file.

Matt is a great guy to work with, hes super fast and his tunes, well so far so good. I have a trip to take in mid August, so I was thinking of loading th SLR tune, but I like the 8k tow so much I may just keave it.

have you ran the srl yet?
all my towing i use the 8k and love it. great shifting and just at the right times too. and the srl is awsome. glad to see you came aboard.

 

I will have to agree. His tunes are awesome. The SRL is a great daily driver with tons of power.

 

Great to hear Sarge. Glad your happy with the new tunes. I've got the 8k and unlimited tow tunes along with the SRL but I've only run the SRL and couldn't be happier.

I havent loaded the SLR tune yet. Normally I have between 4-7k in tow so Its a pain to switch back and forth. I may try the slr when I go to PA and see my aunt and uncle.

Like I said the 8k tow make enough power for me right now, it seems as if it makes the same amount as Innovative street file. His 8k tow tune is no comparison to Innovatives it makes what I tow so much more predictable and the trans shifts are well....a million times better, I havent even fooled with the options yet.

I am real happy I came aboard with Matt as well. Couldnt be happier. I was tired of driving the truck stock cause innovatives tunes would mess with my trans that bad.

dont mess with the options just leave them as is. matt already has his options in with the tune

Welcome aboard Sarge. I've only run the SRL+ but am going to try the 8K tow when I go to the ATN's in Carlisle next week. Matt does an awesome job. Welcome to the dark side.

Matt Robinson from Gear Head. I still have some old tunes from Matt @ Spartan, but I dont run them because I was reflashed a while ago and they wont work with my current strategy.

I didnt want to buy the Phalanx (sp) cause I already have a Das Daq and a SCtx3 I bought from Innovative a few years ago.

Hey 429,

After I stud my truck I was interested in the SRL+ (which if I remember correctly, is for studded), I current;y run the SRL and love it. Did you run the SRL then move to the SRL+...if so how different powerwise are they?

Has anyone blown head gaskets with the SRL tune? I can't find anyone who has. If it is really that safe is there any disadvantage at all to getting this tune? Rougher cold starts maybe?

 

Joe, I never ran the SRL. I studded the truck then got Matt's tunes so I can't answer your question. I don't think there will be a measurable difference but the studs sure give me piece of mind.
