Well that would make since. You probably have a 9" and I have a Dana 60. My truck is move heavy duty calling for a heavier shock.

yes mine is a 9", and my 75 F350 crew has the bolt stlye on the rear upper mounts. So that would make sense that the heavier trucks had it. Like to see what numberdummy has to say about it.

at autozone
p/n 61519
$24.99
I used this shock for my 69 Highboy, It's the same number as the two wheel drive one so it should work. They are Gabriel shocks.
at advance auto
p/n 59011
$19.99

How good could $20.00 shocks be? Are those at autozone the eye to eye?

Yea they are I was just showing that they had them. With those numbers they could look up the more expensive ones. The people that work at most autoparts stores are ignorant on most automotive topics. All they know how to do is read obd codes. If that

To me it seems as though the f150s have the stud type and the f250s and 350s have the eye type.. mine are the eye type...

I know you are trying to keep costs down, and I can appreciate that. but for the amount of time and gas you've spent chasing down the right shocks in a cheaper product line, you coulda prolly just got the rancho's and been done with it.

Regardless, for that price difference I'd get the rancho's. Off roading or not, they really do ride nice. I put them on my exploder to replace the monroe reflex's that wore out in 30K.... the rancho's do ride quite a bit better. Worth the little bit extra.

good luck!

according to the guy at napa anything after 77 should have that stud style but mine is a 78 and doesn't. I still think this is a F-150 thing.

Just go with what you know and order the eye to eye shocks. Go online to the auto parts store and find the one you want. Bring the pn to the guy and he will either go grab them for you or he should be able to get them in later that day.
