alot of people seem to like the Edge.

Personally, I would recommend going around to local shops that can dynotune and find out what they use. The local tuner for me uses SCT so for my truck, i would buy an XCal3 from SCT and get the shop to dynotune my truck. No out of the box tune will perform as well and good dyno tune.

The Gryphon is a black label edge. Bill from Powerhungry Performance, en ex-edge employee, takes Edges and custom tunes them to the owners needs. If you're looking to really tune your truck and don't mind spending a little extra cash the Gryphon is the way to go.

I use a gryphon and love it. It has all the gauges built in so that you can monitor up to 4 parameters at one time. They also will custom write the tunes for your specific PCM. The only problem to date is it is taking an awful long time to get the custom tunes. I am still waiting on my custom tunes. Power Hungry Performance - Feed your hunger for POWER!

Not a fan of bootleg programmer dealers. Edge doesn't make a user programmable unit so who warrantees the hardware? Even if the SCT is custom programmed they still warranty the hardware.

Best for tuning: the SCT line of tuners. There is the Xcal2 and Xcal3. way more versatile than anything else

Best for looks and mid-level tunes: The Edge hands down. Gryphon makes it better

does the job, but nothing really redeeming:
The Diablo Predator, Hypersomething

The Gryphon isn't a bootleg programmer. He has their blessing, but sells the units as black units instead of silver/grey because he can't sell it as the same part because custom programming can't share Edge's CARB certification.

Thanks, This Is What I Am Trying To Find Out. I Was Thinking About The Hypertech Max Energy Programmer But I Guess It Is Not To Popular Here. I Currently Have A K&n Cold Air Intake And Roush Duel Side Exit Exhaust. A Programmer Is Next. I Will Look At The Gryphon As Well.

ok question i have read that if i change any settings for speedo or tire size or any other custom settings that the edge reverts back to stock with no tuning i need to recalabrate for larger tires and wheels and would like to use a edge but i also want to use the canned tunes for performance will this work for me ??
