american flag mount

I wanna fly an american flag from the bed of the truck and. What is the best pole to use and wont break or bend? Im thinkin a cb antenna?

I used 1/2" metal electrical conduit for running wires through. Mounted them right b4 the tailgate.

Sounds like a good idea.how much is the pipe? Would the cb antenna handle it or would it break?

Cb antenna would break.lol And its like 1.95 for a 8 foot piece at home depot. It might be a 10 foot piece. Its cheep. You gotta look around. There is a few differen higher priced ones. Look in all the bins at home depot

Back in the day I was part of a balloon chase crew. We all used to just use a piece of PVC pipe big enough to hold your flagpole and zip-tied somewhere in the bed, usually at the back near the tailgate. At the time I had a Bronco and I had mine mounted to the spare tire carrier with plumbing hanger tape.
Flags can get frayed fast when you start driving around with them, just something to be aware of.
