Here is another picture.

The bug guard and side steps would be first to go if I bought it.

I read this post yesterday, but did not see any input as far as the ECU being swapped out. Someone can chime in and correct me, but, I'm pretty sure that if you swap the 5.0 for the 5.8, you are going to have to swap the ECU. Yes, it will run, but the 5.8 will run lean. The 5.8 will require a different preset fuel table that is already programmed into the PROM.

I'd be looking @ getting the ECU from the 5.8 if it has the same tranny. I'm just posting info that is here from FTE regarding the motor swap since this is SD and not MAF. If what I have read and gathered is wrong, please update me.

Good point. So from the scrap truck take the engine, ECU, and the tranny if the old one is different?

I don't know, a 302 with 147,000 miles really shouldn't be worn out to the point of not holding oil pressure unless it has been abused or neglected. Could be 247,000.

If it ran good that's a $1800-$2300 truck. So if he's going to do the repairs and give at least a 90 day warranty thats the pocket it fits into around here. If you are buying as is $500 will buy that truck all day long.

He doesn't have a final asking price for it until he swaps the new motor and all in. He's the type of guy that hes not going sell something that he thinks could have problems with.

Thanks for the price input. It helps me get an idea for how much it should be worth and such.
