...better to spend the money on a Auto Enginuity software package, no?

Is fuel pressure goes down on the guage what the heck are you gonna do?...wonder if the gage is working correctly! ha!

AE can be very helpful. If the gauge shows low fuel pressure you know you have a clog or a kink or your fuel pressure regulator is bad. Gauges just tell you that there is a problem then you have to figure out what it is.

Get both, ideally.

If fuel pressure goes down it can mean a few things. If it is prefilter, then it is one of two things. If it is a gradual drop, its time for a new pump, a sudden drop would mean a clogged line or screen. Post filter just adds changing the fuel filter to that list.

Thanks for the video A/Ox4.

So I need a fuel injection pressure tester up tp 100psi and adaptors.

My fuel filter/water separator has 10,000 miles on it...so its time for a change, no?

Can you direct me to the specific fittings I need for the post and pre filter locations on the fuel bowl?

I change my filter every 15,000 miles. The links to what you need to measure fuel pressure are in the description of the video, but you can get them here:

Thanks so much.

I dont see any links in the video.

But the prices for those NPT adaptors are a little nutty once you factor in shipping.

You an get an entire kit for $45. http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP7838-...4951782&sr=8-1

Hey JT250,

What about if your trip odometer is faulty? That would cause a miscalculation of MPG. You would obvioulsy catch a huge error but a more subtle one might be caused by an erroneous odometer.

Reason I thought of that was because I went to check my MPG when I filled up yesterday (20 gallons) and my trip odometer read 55 miles! WHAT! So I immediately realized that I had pulled the batteries that same day. It must have set the trip to ZERO (or I am getting 3 MPG! OUCH).

Then I realized something else....my speedometer jumps around at 55+ (which makes the cruise control worthless).... and if the speedometer is tied to the odometer, (I dont think it would be) then I am getting incorrect mileage on odometer and trip odometer.

Thoughts?

Yes, ODO inaccuracies will cause incorrect MPG calculations. For example, my tires are 3% larger than the stock tires, so my ODO is 3% off. Which way? I dont know because I never took the time to care. But I DO know that all of my MPG readings are also 3% off.

I think I have compared with GPS before and it is good but I will g compare it to Garmin and my phone to be sure. I'm going to play with my fuel pressure on Wednesday it is 72psi right now at idle.

So are you guys implying that the speedometer and odometer are connected? My bad speedometer is resulting in an incorrect odometer reading????

Yes they both use the speedo sensor mounted atop the rear differential.

However, one can fail independently of the other. Your speedo can break and your ODO be fine. But if the computer is incorrectly calibrated they will both be off

Holy smokes!

...I hope the odometer is registering the correct total mileage! Damned the speedometer. I gotta check this with Garmin.
