ok read the owners manual and also ask 1 question on here about this but he goes again.
if i lock in my hubs 4wd works great but if they are in auto i get no 4wd.how exactly are they supposed to work in auto?
thanks
In "Auto" they are vacuum actuated when you select 4X4 on your ESOF switch. If you're not getting 4wd in auto, it's time to check for leaks, rebuild the hubs and/or swap out for manual hubs.
Ditto what barthel said. I had problems with mine not wanting to disengage, so I replaced them with a set of Warn premium manual hubs. Added bonus: low range in 2wd!
I got rid of my auto hubs and replaced them with Mile Markers (found new on e-Bay for $99). The job literally took 20 minutes and there's NO question of whether I'm in 4WD or not. The first time I went to the dunes after the install they were GREAT!
Think about what they said they bought manual hubs, you already have them if auto doesn't work then you are doing the same thing they are doing. I have been doing this for 5 years turn the **** they lock why spend the money
I agree with Wulfman, that's what I do, although you may want to take the hubs apart and clean them and reset them to freewheel, because one of mine was stuck in lock even though I was in 2w

I am planning to clean mine soon. What type/kind of oil grease do I need to complete the job right?
