I checked all the wires I can see without disassembling the column... Brian (BTS) said something about clock spring, but I would SEE the problem when I took it apart - something about 'internal' wires???

It shorts when downshifting and using OD button. The first couple times it happened to ex-wife it shut off, but re-started and I thought it was CPS (or just operator...). Then OD lite would come on when it wasn't 'sposed to - then go off if I tilted the wheel up and down. Now, it has blown fuse that controls gauges, TPS, etc and another time the PCM fuse - while downshifting or pushing OD button.

I bet anything this is your problem. Read this whole thread but the good pics are on the linked page. It didn't take long for me to tear into this and tape mine up.

Looks like I will be attending with a friend of mine! (assuming I don't sell my truck by then) I'll make sure and keep checking this thread for updates on what to bring, etc.

You can bring Wendy.

Tent camping will be nice as long as its not HOT at nite. If its cool, electric blanket is all ya need - y'all can come warm up in the camper in the AM if ya need to!

We drive right by you guys, we'll start the convoy there!

.....
(Ah, Rubber Duck, this is Sodbuster. C'mon here?)
(Yeah, ten-four Sodbuster.
Listen, ya wanna put that microbus in behind that suicide jockey?)
(Yeah he's haulin' dynamite and he needs all the help he can get)

Well we laid a strip for the Jersey shore
Prepared to cross the line
I could see the bridge was lined with bears
But I didn't have a doggone dime
I says Pigpen this here's the Rubber Duck
We just aint gonna pay no toll
So we crashed the gate doin' ninety-eight
I says Let them truckers roll, ten-four

Coz we got a mighty convoy rockin' thru the night
Yeah we got a mighty convoy aint she a beautiful sight
Come on and join our convoy aint nothin' gonna get in our way
We gonna roll this truckin' convoy across the USA
Convoy

Is this what ya had in mind?

LMAO!
