Vehicle Speed Sensor 2004 V-10

In my model VSS is on the top of the differential, but that might be different story.
Our trucks have lot of sensors that we might not even know what for. I had similar situation with a sensor that I mistook for engine temperature sensor. NAPA guys had no idea what is it even they look at it. Turned out it was high pressure oil temperature sensor that affect injection timing on my PS. The only source for such animals is the dealer. Mine is giving me 20% discount each time I present myself as a business owner. Big finger sized sensor retails for $180

Thank you. There are so many descriptions of a VSS, but I'm quite certain that is where mine is, too. I called the dealer and they were telling me it is the TSS or OSS on top of the tranny. NAPA is trying to sell me some probe looking sensor but it does not exist on my tranny. I'm going with the rear speed sensor on the differential and see what happens. Thanks again

The VSS is definitely on top of differential, got it changed and ended up changing the OSS on back top of tranny came out dry but went back in slick, now if I can get the oil dipstick tube out hopefully, I'll be good to go for a few days, then the dreaded spark plug change in a couple of weeks, I been building my confidence for that one, lol
