A/C Cycles off and on

A/C Cycles off and on
The A/C compressor in my '97 Ranger cycles off and on every 5 seconds. What causes that? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You might as well read the FAQs in the HVAC section. There's almost no difference between the systems in the Ranger and the F-series trucks
