I replaced my rear fuel pump about a year ago. Now the truck runs poorly on the front tank. when switching to front tank it clears up. My question is after checking fuel pressure on the rear i have 32psi and it does not go up when you pull off the pressure regulator hose. the front tank reads 47psi and goes up when you pull off the fpr hose. Can my new pump be bad already? Or does the front pump have a bad check valve? thanks

 

Sounds like your new pump is bad.. though check that it is getting a full 12v. You know when the check valves are bad when one tank pumps fuel into the other, if you don't have that problem then your valves are OK.

 

Any suggested brands of fuel pump work better or last longer. I purchased a airtex unit and its only pumping 32 psi and wont respond to the fpr.
