Glad she's running, good work! Yeah, rust repair is the most expensive thing on these vehicles. With the twisting problem, it's probably the cowl. Removing the air box on drivers side gives you better acess to take a look at things. Pedals mount to firewall and cowl at the top of pedal assembly.

Remove the air box eh? Hmm , never thought of that...good idea. That should give me a better view of things.

I'm not fa miler with the three speed shift pattern...but it seems that something isn't right with the stick on the column. I when I disengage the clutch[when i depress the clutch pedal] or even when I don't, the stick doesn't seem to move is a uniform manner.

Is it supposed to be a "H" patter? 1, 2, 3, R?

Oh, and the master cylinder is frozen also...I got a lot of work cut out for me.
The stamp on the inside of the reservoir cap reads, Bendix. Is that OEM? or was another brand used?
And is it rebuild able? I'd like to use as much original stuff as possible.

H pattern. Pull toward you and first is down , up is reverse. In the middle, shifter will move towards dash and second is up, down for third. Bushings are probably shot on the linkage. Not sure about brand of MC. But Bendix sounds right. If it's like mine was, not worth fooling around rebuilding. But thats up to you.

The fire wall twists a bit when engaging the clutch
R the reinforcing plates still on the FW? That whole area is a poor design. It's triangulated by the FW, kick panels (I guess that's the right wrd) and that 'shelf' under the hood. Any seams between these three gone and it's spaghetti.
If U replace fenders (again B VERY careful, the nose is not supported when taken off the forward body mounts, will crumple like paper) it's a good time to get a look @ those seams. There's access to measurements too straighten everything out if needed (so doors fit, commercial body panels fit, rag top can go on, etc). Kinda nice. 8^)

Keep talkin, ur into it now...
