My 2006 F-350 6.0 RPMs is going up and down when idle (not all the time). I am using House. any one, help

 

I have a friend who pinned that to a icp sensor. He is installing a new one this weekend. His rpm would randomly go up/down. If it works out i will post again.

Curt is most likely right , have it code scan there doesn't have to be a light , if the code is 2285 then its ICP sensor.

 

The description sounds like the ICP. When mine went it would swing from 600 to 1000/1100 rpm by it's self. If you were driving down the road it would run fine, then all the sudden act like you turn the key off....then come right back to normal.

 

My 03 f250 6.0L just started reving up and down at idle. Sounds like a vibration under the hood

 

Afew things to look at the connection pull the grey clip that holds the three wires together if you see white that's shorting out causing a rpm and bucking stall.

 

Is this an eradic idle up and down rapidly? And what is the weather like? When cold typically under 30°F. my truck will idle up to 900-1000rpm but that is in the programming the pick commands the high idle when needed. If it is really cold it will idle up and if let run long enough and the temp comes up it will settle back to 600.

 

Still Have the EGR Valve? if you have a Gauge like scan Gauge monitor EGR DC also the Turbo VGT, map, EBP,Baro, If your getting pleanty of boost. need to see what EGR and Turbo are doing. then we can head to ICP , ICPv, IPR. may need to start your Own thread seeing that this one is a few years old and mostly ICP you will get better results too.

 

No it doesn't do it all the time and only goes up and down a little but some times it surges and I have to press on the brakes harder. There's a vibration sound coming from somewhere under the hood. Idk if it has something to do with the sct tuner that was just put on other coincidence
