First time connecting 12volts in 20+ years

I have a 59f100, I installed a rebel wire 9+3 kit and I just wired my ignition section and this weekend will be the first time I connect the battery to my truck..... Should I install a temproprary fuse someplace to prevent any burning of wire or short anything, I double checked all the wiring but I'm afraid I miss something I'm gonna fry it,

While getting my ignition wiring done I'm gonna try to turn this truck on!!! Please any advice is much appropriated

Never hurts to havr the ignition fused. Modern vehicles do have fused igniton so they have less chance of burning up wires.

You did install the fusible link that came with the Rebel kit right? It will melt to protect the wiring in case of a dead short.
