2011 F150 Cam Diagrams

Sorry it took so long to respond I had to setup a file server site since all the free services out there suck big time.

The files can be found here: File Server

Any questions let me know. The file names are not really intuitive for lack of time however the "C" labeled files are the identifier of the connector.

Not working for me

I got mine working finally and all buttoned up. The video is slightly grainy, but I know where the problem is. Had to make a quick 2' extension that I need to go back and solder together

Code, do you have the 2008-2010 camera, or the 2011 camera? The 2011 camera has 6 wires and they are all different colors. I got mine from the same seller that you did (nailsandsales). She sent me a 2011 camera with a 2008-2010 harness.

Just something to be aware of. The 2008-2010 harness works 100% with your 2011 truck....but, it has the wires for the camera going to the wrong pins for a 2011 camera

I am pretty sure its the 2011, but now you have me wondering. Either way I still have to do the wiring from the taillight harness to the mirror so if after that's all done and it still doesn't work then I would bet mine will have to be fixed as well. I am waiting on the body harness and new headliner harness. If they still don't have the correct wires I am going to run all my own and just use a quick splice so I don't have to cut my factory harness. The website is working on my end http://0h0.com

works now. my phone doesn't like it for some reason

oh yeah, here is another tidbit of info for you in case of troubles. the mirrors are sort of like the camera. There is a 2008-2010 version, and a 2011+ version.

The 2008-2010 version (I have this) uses the following pinout for the camera and auto-dim
1. 12v Power
2. Reverse Trigger
3. Ground
8. Camera Positive (+)
16. Camera Negative (-)
The 2011 version moves the ground and the microphone pins around.
1. 12v Power
4. Ground
8. Camera Positive (+)
9. Reverse Trigger
16. Camera Negative (-)

Since you have a 2011 truck, using a 2011 mirror will cause no problems. Just plug and play. Assuming that new harness you have on order is for a 2011 truck, and not a 2008-2010 truck.

If you have a 2008-2010 mirror, and a 2011 harness, you have to move PIN #3 (ground) to PIN #4 position. This is for the video only.

Thought you should know before you find out the hard way. I spent days researching this stuff and still had problems. All the info you need is out there, but tying it all together is a PITA

Wires from back of truck.

Tylus: Did you have to run wires from the camera all the way to the mirror? If so which wires are vital to the cameras operation.

GY-VT To the BCM <----
VT-BN To the BCM <---- Are these only if you have in dash nav?
WH-GN To the Mirror Video +
BN-VT To the Mirror Video -
BK-GN To front fender as a ground
BK To ?

yes, I had to run 2 wires only. I used my 7 pin trailer harness for ground and key on/fused power (it's about 2 ft away and easy to get to).

The camera is powered anytime the truck is running. Since that is good enough for it from the factory, I did the same.

As for video, the wires you only need 3 wires. The WH-GN(+) and BN-VT(-) are wrapped by a shield wire. It's easy to figure out which are which because they are wrapped together and have that foil stuff covering. Run those to the cab and your mirror, or your radio.

Well I have successfully got my camera to work. I ended up running my own wires which made it a lot easier.

I just want to ad a rear view camera and mirror and I am so confused..can someone help. I have a 2011 XLT . Sync mic in the headliner. I want a 2011
mirrior part number , 2011 camera part number and is there a wire harness part number i need? i been doing some research and there are so many with different year trucks and different year parts....this cant be easy. I think keeping every thing for the year of the truck will make it easy. but maybe im wrong.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I will gladly help you out in any way I can. As far as part numbers I am not really sure. I emailed nailsandsales from ebay and told her what I was looking for and she sent me the correct mirror and camera. As for harnesses there is a few ways you can go here. I called tasca ford and purchased the taillight harness. Come to find out my body harness did not have the correct wires and neither did the headliner harness. I ordered the headliner harness myself and it turned out to be the wrong one so I just stole the two wires I needed from the new one and ran them separately from the existing one. I ordered the body harness from Tasca ford however it took like three weeks to get and I was not patient so I used quick splices and wired into the trailer wires for power and ran the two cam wires to the back from the mirror. However now I have the body harness that has the correct wires that I am stuck with if you need it let me know I will give you a good deal.

Ok so I bought what I think is the correct camera and mirror from nails on eBay. It came with a wiring harness. Reading through this forum and the 68 page thread from the other, all I know is that it could or could not be the correct harness and I could or could not have the right headliner harness already in the truck. How do I figure out whether the harness that came with the camera and mirror is correct and although I have looked at the pictures of the harness in this thread, mine do not look the same. I have a 2011 XLT that was assembled in Dearborne. First step was to find the harness at the rear of the truck, which I did. No clue whether I have the right harness from eBay or not. What is the best way to tell this? Next, assuming I have what I need would be to run this new harness from the back to the front somewhere right behind the cab, correct? Mine is a super crew by the way. Any guidance would be appreciated as it appears many have done this many ways, and the years of truck and parts make a difference. Thanks!

I'm really not trying to be rude. So please don't take it as such.

If you've truly read the huge 60+ page thread on the other forum, you should know by now exactly what you need to look for on your truck. Either the 2 wires are there or they aren't. there are pictures of those wires, and I know I have posted all the wire schematics for all the various setups...in addition to what other guys have posted up.

unplug your current mirror and look at the plug. Do you have 2 wires in the #8 and #16 positions? if not, you will have to either buy the headliner harness (roughly $45), or add those wires yourself.

look by your spare tire for the tailgate plug. It will have a blank installed. Look to see if the 2 wires are in it for the camera. If not, you will have to run 2 wires yourself, or buy the whole dang harness.

If you have the 2 wires from spare tire to the mirror, simply plug in the camera and the new mirror and enjoy.

if you are missing the wires, get prepared to run 2 wires from the spare tire to the mirror. easy. not hard.

as far as compatability issues, if the wires exist but no image, then you get to figure out which yr range your camera or mirror comes from. for that, please take a picture of the wire/plugs for each and post them up. I'll try to help, but really need to see them to tell for sure.

Oh not at all. I agree you would think I would have it but the huge thread had several different model years with various harnesses and by the time I got to the end I was confused on which plugs for which years etc. I took some pictures of what I think is the harness I am looking for and will post them shortly. Thanks for any help and advice Tylus.
