Emergency Trans went

I've got a 1983 F-100 inline 6 3 speed floor shift.Tranny went out will a later model trans fit my motor.I've heard if the bell housing bolt pattern matches mine i can hook it up.What year trans can i put in there.Please Help

Any that fit a small block bell housing.

As for what trans, I'd think anything that would bolt up and that isn't computer-controlled.

What about

What about a 5 speed from a late 80's early 90's f-150 manual floor shift and it's an inline 6 just don't remember the year exactly.

The Mazda and ZF 5 speeds require a hydraulic clutch.

The 4 speed OD trans would bolt up, might be a true bolt in.

Another 3 speed--millions served--could be found.
