Closest scan tool to me is about 50 miles that I know of. Does this diode cause the issue I described, seems to be lots of problems out of these trannys.Is the diode something that is replaceable by a mechanically inclined gearhead or is it inside the housing? thank you
The "diode" is a one way clutch inside the transmission. Replacing it involves a complete trans rebuild, including changing some hard parts. It's not a simple job.
