1FD = FoMoCo USA - Ford Truck - Incomplete Vehicle.
N = Class 6 - Hydraulic Brakes - 19,501-26,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating range.
L70 = No such series code. If this is a C series Tilt Cab, the series code would be C70.
H = 6.1L (370 2V or 4V).
9 = Check digit, FoMoCo use only.
F = 1985.
V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.
A36871 = 1985 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

So no such vehicle could exist with L70, it is a tilt cab but the paperwork has an L where the cab has a C, possibly a clerical error all the way back to 1985? My main concern is that the papers are for something else, but if no such thing exists it has to be a an error, I can't see someone having the same vin with one single letter difference.

Thx for all the info, hopefully the paperwork will get sorted out. New hurdles are insurance of anything over 4500kg ends up into commercial rates. This might just kill the whole program all together unless it can get scaled back some. Not really sure what a 22 foot moving box with roll up door and double doors on passenger side would weight and the power tailgate, plus however many feet of frame get removed (currently 187 wb)to make a ramp truck or to put a dually box on it.
If anyone has any info on the gvw listing for the shorter frames it would help figure out the options I have. ** And if anyone has actual vehicle weight, and Wheel base of their truck I could use some reference, thx**
Also if I can get the options decoded that would be great.
The top right of the sticker has 2773L
gvwr 21000/9525kg
wb 187
gvw c700
Body FA8
Trans CD
Axle U8M
fgawr 3175
rgawr 7330
DSO B14624
Thx again for all the help from FTE

F800 fuel system question
I have a 1999 F800 truck VIN# 3FEXF8015XMA12308 with a 5.9 24V Cummins. The electric pre-fuel pump seems to be working intermittently. I changed the pump thinking it was faulty, but that did not fix the problem. Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay might be located? I see only a small fuse box located under the dash on the drivers side containing about 10 fuses and the flasher, but no relays. Is there maybe a fuel pump control unit mounted somewhere?
Thanks
Thanks

Bill are these bench seats the Bostrom, national style you mentioned?

And would anyone have a more legible view of the specs given at the top left of page 7 showing the overall height/length etc, thx.

Is there a way to convert a dayton axle to bud wheels or is it a complete axle swap? And if possible is it easier to find a newer axle from a f450/550 to gain disk brakes and more serviceable parts? I need to put the old girl on a diet if that helps also, would like to find out the final weight after shortening the frame down from 187wb to build a ramp truck. If anyone knows what a ramp bed weighs as well, I have done some research into the weight of the materials and 2500lbs is a safe number for a deck without sides, tool boxes and all the extras. It needs to be 4500KG/10000lbs or less to get into the 3500 dually weight classs, thanks.

Do you own this truck yet?
No one can answer with any accuracy your weight questions. Materials, construction methods, the specifics of the trucks powertrain all affect weight. You need to scale the truck to find the true weight.

I have a 04 F-450 diesel 4x4 with a 8 1/2 ft skirted steel bed, the bed weighs around 1000 lbs.
The trucks weighs 9500 lbs without me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel.
I doubt you'll be able to put a 2500 lb ramp bed on a C-700 and keep it under 10000 lbs.
You can replace the Dayton hubs with Bud style but they must be for the same brand, style and weight class as the axle in the truck.
Newer axles with better brakes would be nice but best to get axles for that size truck from a newer F650-750.
Your not going to save enough weight with the smaller axles to justify the cost of gear changes and other necessary mods to make them hard on that chassis.
You could save the cost of gear swap if you go with 19.5 low pro tires and wheels but we're talking about a complete tire and wheel swap that won't be cheap ether.

Don't own it yet, doing my homework first. I'm just looking for something comparable or just any c series to get an idea of how heavy one is, preferably a cab and bare chassis but I'd be happy with anything right now.

The truck has buds up front and daytons on the rear and I don't care for the daytons much and having a spare would be nice, so replace the hubs from a similar model/same make rear end? I'd also like to drop the rear gear slightly to reduce the RPM's for highway speeds, or if it was easier just find a newer big truck rear axle and be done with it. And as for the tire size change, I'd be ok with it but the gap from cab to tire is already huge and may need to be lowered somewhat. Plus the 19.5's would add more gear and rev the Rpm's higher.

Thx for the info, It has buckets currently but they look like 80's GM high back seats, possibly 1980 camaro seats, the brackets look "custom" as well, but they are blue in color, not charcoal. I would prefer a bench seat to allow they kids to tag along.
