Question for 2007+ owners that moved from a 05+

You could say we are pretty big Expediton fans, currently have a 99 EB and 05 EB. Love them both!

Today we noticed a 2007 Limited in Dark Copper at the local dealership. It was the first time either my wife or I had ever seen that color and both said "wow look at that!" when we saw it. So of course we pulled in and checked it out. Man, is that interior cool! Love the black and dark brown seats. So heres my question to anyone that has moved on from their 05 or 06 to the latest generation...

Did you ever regret making the move, as it was only a few years difference? Or is the 6 speed, power lift gate and updated dash worth it?

Here's the main rub I have. Ours has 86k and will be paid off next year. This 07 has 85K. We will have to debate this more, but I first would like some feedback from folks that have made this exact move.

Funniest thing about the whole deal, my wife just HAS to have this truck for one reason...it has the AUX in port on the dash

THanks in advance for your feedback!

The 6-speed transmission is just wonderful if you tow anything.

I specifically special ordered my '07 without gimmicks like the power lift gate or rear air suspension but it sounds like you're looking for a "country club" vehicle, not a truck.

Not quite the same situation, by my brother in law has an '03 Expy EB and we got our '07 EL Limited about a year ago. Love ours, his is nice, but we LOVE ours.

Gotta say the AUX on the dash is actually very nice. Using my Zune and I just have to play with the volume a bit to get levels "even" The wife has a Prius (hey, have to even out household gas usage somehow!) and the Aux input on it using the same cables and Zune is absolutely horrible. Very staticy, poor volume, etc.

Gotta say we love the power LG too, though it could be slightly better in our situation. Got ours used and they didn't provide us with any remote fobs. Ordered the 5-button remotes on eBay and programmed them (lock, unlock, panic, back glass, liftgate) and everything but the liftgate works. I can't imagine that a truck as loaded as ours can't do the remote power LG...

That's a stinker. I had the same situation and bought two 5 button fobs from eBay and the LG works on both with the first attempt at programming.

ronjeremy-did you get it. Just wanted to hear your thoughts if you did. I am trying to decide if it is worth it to trade in my 06 for something with the six-speed. thanks, Mike

^ We ended up not doing it. This particular truck has the entertainment system and we don't want it. But that's not the main reason.

Drove the truck, really liked it, but going up only two years and getting a truck with the same miles was really hard to swallow. If we find one with less miles then we will revisit.

One more thing, the chrome cladded wheels really bother me. I can't understand why such an expensive vehicle has such cheaply made wheels. I am going to keep my eye out for a blue 07 EB with OEM alloys.

Understandable, thanks for the response. I was really hoping for some new motors this year in the expy to make me hold off. I may just stay in mine also because it is only at 60k. Thanks again, Mike.
