Anyone flying flags from truck?

Ive always wanted a old highboy and have always had the idea of flying flags from the back corner's of the bed. Well now i have one!!!!! Anyone have pics of their truck flying flags? I have many flags i would luv to fly behind my rig (POW MIA, Gadsen, American, "kill em all, let god sort them out", and many more).

Post your PICTURES!

That's awesome! I just ordered two old German flags, one is a WWI replica and one is a replica from the 1800's Prussia. I'm planning on flying both of them. Is it better to fly them from the back of the bed or right behind the cab?

Those flags will add more aero drag, therefore could cause the MPG to drop a bit. These trucks have bad enough aerodynamics, and don't need any help using more fuel.......

I think in the back of the bed. It looks better going down the road

Zip tied them to a hockey stick then put them in the steak holes and put wedges in there too to make it tight so they dont fall out.

When I bought my '74 supercab there was a beat up, old American flag in the engine compartment covering the open top end (see pic below). I took it out, folded it nicely and have it saved in the shop. Once I get her going again my plan is to fly it behind the truck as my "buggy whip" when I hit the dunes. I just need to find something strong enough to hold up a large, canvas flag behind the truck at 60+!

I made my flag poles out of 1/4" steel tubing used to run electrical wire through. It was like 20$ for 17' at Home Depot

Nice. Are you talking 1/4" O.D., I.D. or 1/4" wall thickness?

I'm assuming you are talking EMT but figured I'd ask.

With as much tubing as I have around the shop from project you'd think I would have though of that...

My concern would be with the overall length of this flat and the long length of how high I want/need the flag I think the metal would fatigue and crack at the end where I'd weld a base to it to mount in the truck.
