Do not drill the jet out! You will need to get a different metering rod and metering jet set. I know edelbrock has these and I'm fairley sure they will work on the YF though I may be wrong, it may be a good idea to call or e-mail them to see if it will work and what they have as far as sizes. Good luck!

The metering rods are different, they work exactly the same but mount totally different. I soldered and redrilled my jet to a smaller size because it was too rich and wouldn't adjust, I would have to order new rods and jets, and I had to get it through emissions, but I have a heated O2 sensor and an air/fuel ratio monitor I built so I was able to monitor it closely and adjust it every couple of miles until it was "right" and didn't have to go by tail pipe or spark plug color.
On one of the older sets of instructions I found for YF carbs said to keep Backing out the mixture screw(out is lean, in is rich) util the engine starts to stumble on acceleration the stumble will happen when the carb switches from the idle to the run circuit supposedly this happens between 15 to 25 mph depending on load, temp, air pressure humidity amount of acceleration and political affiliation etc. then tweak it back to the rich side a little until it stops stumbling, also listen for any pinging thats an indication of running to lean also. It did pass on the second try well within the limits.

I didn't know that. I was assuming the opposite. 'Been trying to lean it out for a while by "richening"it up...oops. Mine (YFA) starts to stumble/miss if I go too far in either direction... so my jetting must be OK. It was just my reasoning that was backwards...
