88 F250 Randomly dies, erratic fuel gauge
My good ole truck started acting up. It is a 460 with TBI, dual tanks, etc. It will randomly die! Seems to start after a bit of jostling steering column (tilt), waiting,.... What is odd is that gas gauge starts acting erratically, then it dies. Thought was running out of gas and when switch tanks, and it starts. Getting worse now, so can't really get more than 1/2 mile from home and harder to start each time. I think ignition switch, but also be gas tank selector switch. Does anyone know if/how fuel pumps function? I don't even know if in tank or external. ANY AND ALL HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED! Please feel free to email at rogerasay@yahoo.com.
