I got a letter from Ford stating that I needed to take my truck in for this flash. I took it in and had it done and noticed today that during regen the "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" message did not go away like most people said it does with the newer flashes.

Does anyone know if this was changed again in the newer flashes to stay on?

Also, I complained about the truck blowing white smoke while towing in the rain and running rough. I also complained about sooty tail pipes, which the service advisor thought was normal but wrote up anyway. Needless to say, they changed the diesel particulate filter and the pipes are completely clean now.

They said "DPF fails 3000 rpm runup test". Out of curiosity does anyone know what the "3000 rpm runup test" is?

 

the 3k runup is testing for black smoke from the tail pipe. you failed. means you have/had a cracked dpf.
