C202 is in the diagram I posted above.
It is mounted in the safety wall between the engine compartment and the cab.
Circuit 238 pin #66 is the circuit you want to test.

The power on pin #6 comes from the coil of the fuel pump relay.
Did you probe pin #66 of C202 (the dark green wire with a yellow stripe) with the key on and pin #6 of the self-test plug grounded?

THE INERTIA AND FUEL SELECTOR SWITCH HAVE NO FIRE. THE EEC #6 HAS A VERY WEAK SIGNAL JUST LIKE THE HARNESS PLUG THAT GOES INTO THE FUEL TANK. IVE CHECKED THE RELAYS AND FUSES. DOES THIS MEAN IF THERE IS NO FIRE TO THOSE 2 SWITCHES ITS PROB ONE OF THEM THEN?CUZ I HAD A FORD ESCAPE HIT MY TRUCK FROM THE BACK IN FEB 2011 SO DAMN IM WORRIED. THAT INERTIA IS LIKE 80 BUCKS.WHAT U RECOMMEND OR THINK?

If there is no power to ground on either wire at the Inertia switch the Inertia switch is OK for now. You are using the green screw in the kick panel for ground are you not?

Have you checked pin #66 in C202 yet?

question for subford

Hey subford, I am having a fuel issue in a 89 F250. I drove the thing home from work, parked it, and in the morning it ran for about 5 seconds and shutdown. I have changed the fuel pump relay. I can hear the pump in the tank buzzing but I have no power at the high presure pump on the frame rail. Where is the inertia switch located and do you think that is where I should be looking? Thanks in advance

If you hear the pump in the tank buzzing (running) then the Inertia switch is OK along with the selector switch, fuse link, grounds and relay.

Sounds like you have a problem between the Inertia switch and the high pressure pump on the frame rail. But make sure you have power at the selected in-tank pump.
Use a test light with a bulb in it to test for power as you need to load this circuit for testing and a meter just will not do.

Thanks for the schematic and advice

I'm heading out to get going on this again. I made some progress yesterday by locating the relay and changing it. I still have no clue as to where the inertia switch is located though. If I knew where it is I could trace the wire to the HP pump on the frame rail...Thanks again for the schematic...It's more detailed than the one I had.......

Strangely, I have recently had an e-brake cable installed. I wonder if they upset something under the dash by the inertia switch.....Thanks again. (where do you get all these detailed diagrams)?

I draw some of them and others I get off the internet or other sources.
