Wife's new truck....

I can't help myself gottah post...... since our F-250 now has a PullRite Superglide full time, the Exploder was not cutting it for home projects.....as we were looking for a used 2010 we found a new 2010 Lariat for 36k and got the employee X plan and 10k off. The truck is Royal red and has 54 miles on the clock......5.4L, 3.55 LS diff and full tow pkg. woo-hoo ... so we got a brand new 2010 for the same price that the used 2010's are selling for so 28k final is sweet............. It may not be the best deal but if the buyer is happy then it's the best deal for that buyer right....lol....

So now I'm looking for a good tint.....I have Huper Optiks in the Power Stroke and love them but the locals here do not do not carry it any longer.......any ideas on what other tint to use that has such high heat rejection?

Also is it possible to have the bed sprayed with the color matching the truck?

not sure about the window tint, but it is possible to have the spray in liner match your truck. It will cost a little more because they have to use a clear bed liner material and then add the base color of your truck to it a long with the hardener. I would thingk it would only increase the price by what the price of the base color is, but i'm sure they sneek a little more in there.

not sure what companies will do the tinted liners, but my buddy just did his own and it has the option to add color to it

Thanks folks and I loved the reminder 'bout pichers...LMAO...that was classic.....will have some posted tonight or Sunday ..... I rode in the back seat and was speechless about the amount of leg room and the flat floor board room when the seats are up.....wow...she compared them to my F-250 and it's no contest this is a beaut.....now I'll have to keep mine (cough cough) in the shop and drive her truck to work.....

Interesting note: for years she made it clear she did not like trucks and would only drive mine under life or death conditions......she drove this one around town last night and on the way home she never stopped talking about how she loved this and dat about the truck.....and I'm thinking OK, shut up and don't say a word yah got a new convert.......lol...

I just ordered a 2011 FX4 Supercab 5.0L with the 6 1/2 foot bed about 3 weeks ago. So naturally I've been calling around to find out how much things will cost to have done to it. I want a color matched bed liner just like you do. The shop I spoke to told me that they would charge 350$ for a standered black spray in. And around 500$ for the color matched.

Congrats!

I've heard nothing but unhappy stories on a paint match spray in liner... they fade creating a very different color than intended and when they scratch up they look awful.

Not sure if it's for you or not, but we LOVE the bedrug liner. Combined with Ford's bed extender, my wife is a very happy woman when she runs errands or shops. I can shop vac the whole thing in less than 10 minutes and when it really needs it, the powerwasher cleans it up nicely.

Understatement to say the least LOL... The T-55-L11a Avco -Lycoming for the Super C model was a sweet engine but the high pressure hydraulic system behind the pilot seat was almost painful to the ears, The two transmissions with planetary gears and the 28vdc and the 400hz 120vac generators all contributed to one huge hearing loss 25 years later.....nonetheless I've enjoyed calibrating the flight controls, lighting up fluorescent tubes with the HF radio (yeah we clowned around a lot!) and helping out as a crew chief with the Flight Engineer... I learned a lot more then just avionics that way.... I flew with Viet Nam era pilots and so they kindah liked to push em a bit he...he....like the new generation of pilots we got today hoo-rah .....

You bring up a good point because on my gray PSD the bed was sprayed to match the pearl gray and now it's like a faded black.

I saw the rug bed liner and wondered about how they attached/stayed down on the bed and would they hold moisture underneath and contribute to corrosion between the rug and the bed.

I will look into them, thanks for the tip. Hey I even got the wife to buy into a small girly tool box for jumper cable and tow straps and stuff.....she doesn't know it but she's turning into a truck girl....LOL.....
