just wondering if anybody might have any ideas what it might have been for???
There are two screws above the windscreen on the same side which may or may not have been another fixing point of whatever it was

Farm trucks, especially those used in dry harvest (wheat is typical in my part of the neighborhood), routinely have their exhaust modified to run out the front and up instead of underneath the prevent starting a fire in the field. I had two F6 trucks that had their pipes run from the manifold through the top of the fender, with the top held firm with a bracket above the windshield corner.

PS, your pics wouldn't open for me.

Looks like maybe a flagpole mount. Was your truck an old military truck or maybe saw duty at an airport?

Yeah, that's pretty typical of farmer exhaust holes. I thought I had pics of mine on here somewhere, but my album is gone.

I thought perhaps exhaust, but when i looked underneath there are no holes in the inner fender and i couldn't imagine the route the exhaust would have to take to actually be possible, so i ruled it out, also its a V8 so sure3ly the other exhaust would have to link in? i'll take another look.

It was a farm truck so that makes most sense.

or maybe a shotgun holder?? LoL

There are no holes in the inner fender well because the exhaust would have converged and come under the frame to exit through that hole in the fender.

Hey that reminds me, I still need to patch up the hole in my fender! or maybe I'll just route my exhaust through there and install a flamethrower kit

Look familiar Wayne?
